XAV’S TIPS

  • Xav uses apps like YR.no and Meteo Swiss to see the weather forecast

  • In winter, he checks the local avalanche bulletin for detailed information on the snow pack

  • Xav uses the FATMAP Snow Layers to see depth, fresh snow and forecast - not only great for finding the best powder but also extremely useful in combination with the avalanche report.

  • He also makes great use of the Custom Layer on FATMAP, using it in tandem with the avalanche report to set the aspect, gradient and elevation of the risky areas for that day. The Custom Layer will then highlight these areas for you on the map, allowing you to make your riding plans for that day and avoid these zones.
